Easter Dinner Preparations

all photos courtesy of County Living

Are you ready for Easter? I am. Well, mentally anyway :)  We have a gazillion different events going on this week.  I just handed the boys to their dad for the next few days and Vance and I are heading to West Palm Beach until late Saturday and I was still crazy enough to invite family over for Easter dinner after church.  I can't help it.  I survive on chaos and caffeine lol.

Isn't that picture so soothing to the soul above? We'll be eating on the porch as well provided the weather is as nice as it has been lately.  Isn't this the sweetest?  I think i might have to do this one...

I love a beautiful table although I'm just getting the hanging of 'table-scaping' myself.  I tend to be a little more rustic than Sandra whatshername on Simply homemade...i gravitate towards simplicity over elegance...or maybe elegance in the cans sprayed a cool spring blue and celadon green.  Makes my heart sing, people.

Happy Easter loverlies.  What does your easter look like?

Spring Love at the Top of a Tree

There is something fascinating to me about the pair of cardinals in my backyard.  She is constantly squawking and flying away from him and yet he continues to chase her.  I truly hope that is not the secret to their relationship.  I caught this when she stopped flying from tree to tree and he got as close as he could get before she took off again.

Sweet girl, trust me, don't run away from a love that will chase you anywhere.  You'll find that's the best kind of love.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of days.

The post about running away from my old blog.

Yes.  I confess. I ran away from my old blog.  Without nary a peep to my followers.  Is nary even spelled right? I hail from the south and we use "nary" a lot but i don't think i've ever put it on paper (or screen) before.  Oh well, there i go "digressing" again.  Back to the story.

I don't know if you could even call it really running away when i didn't delete the old one ( I have a lot of funny kids stories on there and a few about Vance that i really want to keep and haven't moved anywhere to save yet) AND I kept the blog name. I only changed the URL.

Here's the short version of the "why" - i felt a very strong conviction from God that i needed to  "IT" being a lot of anger that I was still carrying around post divorce. WAY post divorce.  And it was like a poison y'all. Anytime the kids' dad did the smallest thing, I could go straight to those archives and relive past arguments and just forget everything good that has happened to us since.  You won't see a lot of chatter about any of that here.

It's funny, because as soon as i finished creating the new blog, I signed into Proverbs 31 ministry's website to read my daily devotion and I had to laugh.  The devotion was all bout "Do-overs" - and really, who can't use a good "Do-over" every once in awhile?  Yesterday's devotion scripture was based on this verse:

"'Then neither do I condemn you,' Jesus declared. 'Go now and leave your life of sin.'" John 8:11 (NIV)

Luann Prater - yesterday's author goes on to say this:
Have you ever wished for a do-over in life? I have. I've been that woman who had no hope. I'm a witness: Jesus is the master of second chances. Throughout the Bible He not only raised the physically dead, He resurrected the spiritually and emotionally dead as well.

 - so this my friends is my "Do - Over".

 Happy Monday :)

Once upon a time.... a quiet little town there was a mommy who had two beautiful little boys.  Those little boys were the light of her life, but aside from her angels, the mommy was lonely and longed for a mate.  Someone that would accept her as she was, complete with her ready-to-wear family.  God answered her prayer.  Now that mommy, her two boys, that answered prayer of a man and his beautiful daughter are merging hearts and homes.  This is our story.

Welcome to our life...let me introduce us.

I'm Sheri, this is Vance... i could just squeeze him to pieces....

this is now, thanks to our merge, our middle child...but the was my first baby.  Walker.

and our girl.  I finally got one. Sarah. I had to agree to marry her dad to get her, and unfortunately i found out that she really does feel that she is past the age where i can to put ribbons in her hair and play Barbies with her.  sigh.  FINE. go drive off in that car with that boy, missy.  see if we care. WAIT...your dad's heart is breaking..COME BACK...
So, this is us, starting over.  Nice to meet you :)
